Rejewelry is an ongoing international juried competition/exhibition that invites jewelers to create a series of wearable pieces using jewelry donated to the Radical Jewelry Makeover project.
RJM accepts hundreds of donations of broken and outdated jewelry every year. Sorting days are where we sort through some of these donations, organize the material into categories, test material for precious metals and gemstones, and help cultivate RJM's material archive. Sorting days are an incredible way to get involved and be in community. If you like treasure hunts, find satisfaction in organizing things by type, color, or amount of bling, then you will love our sorting days.

AJF and RJM celebrate jewelry’s past, present, and future with a pop-up and happy hour.
Join Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) and Radical Jewelry Makeover (RJM) at The Jewelry Library for a sparkling NYCJW happy hour and pop-up exhibition. As AJF approaches their 30th year and RJM is on the cusp of a transformation, join us to consider what we preserve, how jewelry connects to today, and what its future might hold. Who are the jewelry collectors of the future? What are new ways we might think about collecting? Preview RJM’s new Radical Jewelry Box lending program and discover how jewelry and materials begin new lives. Wear your favorite RJM piece—or try one on, step into AJF’s photo booth, and join the conversation.
Each RJM Project is centered around a learning community, whether that be a single school or a number of educational institutions within a specified region working together. There are many stages to the project beginning with a donation drive and Launch Party! Once donations are collected participants will sort the materials and begin making new work from the load, celebrated in a final gallery exhibition.
